La Citroën "La Dalat" is the first car made in Vietnam. S.A.E.O (Société Automobile d'Extrême Orient), the subsidiary of Citroën in Vietnam, was at the origin of this project and built approximately 4000 copies between 1970 and 1975.

The LaDalat, built using a 2CV base, was assembled in Saïgon. More than 40% of the pieces were produced in Vietnam. Adapted to the roads and paths of the country, this vehicle recognized a huge success and numerous models were available. It served as a bush taxi, ambulance, delivery vehicle, but also as a family car; its price making it very affordable.

The American army even placed an order, but following subsequent events, they were never delivered.

Today, only 200 La Dalat remain in circulation. You will be one of the lucky few to have the chance to explore the Vietnamese countryside in one of them.
