What to Expect on Your Tour
Discovering the Thu Bon River Delta aboard a Citroën La Dalat
Looking for truly unique things to do in Hoi An, beyond the lanterns and the Old Town? Embark on an extraordinary half-day classic car tour aboard a Citroën La Dalat, the first car ever manufactured in Vietnam, and let yourself be guided through the hidden landscapes of the Thu Bon River delta. In 4 hours, this exclusive vintage car tour takes you far from the tourist crowds, into authentic villages, artisan workshops, and unspoiled natural sites that most visitors never see.
Since 2017, our team has been taking travellers off the beaten track aboard our fleet of rare, fully restored LaDalat convertibles. Fewer than 200 of these cars survive in the world today. Riding in one is not just a tour, it is a moving piece of Vietnamese history.
A Unique Immersion at the Pace of the Countryside

Your Hoi An countryside tour begins with a river crossing on a local ferry, the first step into a different world. On the island, your vintage car awaits to take you along quiet country lanes between rice fields and peaceful hamlets. The first stop is with an artisan who has been working with mother-of-pearl for five generations, a rare skill passed down within the same family, which you will discover in the intimacy of his workshop.
You continue through the countryside, observing the work in the fields and the daily life of rural families. The tour then leads you to a fishing village, where a boat-temple dedicated to the whale bears witness to centuries of local beliefs and legends. You cross a grove of water coconut palms before reaching a village specialised in weaving traditional basket boats. Here, far from the tourist trails, you can try navigating one of these round boats, a quintessentially Vietnamese experience.

The adventure continues on a small isolated island in the delta, accessible only by walking across the last floating bridge remaining in the region. There, a local family will show you the secrets of traditional rush mat weaving, a craft that has been sustaining this community for generations. The visit continues in an old house over 200 years old, with a fascinating history, before a refreshing break in a shaded riverside garden.
Throughout the journey, your bilingual guide shares stories, anecdotes, and historical context, while frequent stops allow you to take photos, talk to locals, and fully absorb the rhythm of rural Vietnamese life. You return to Hoi An by ferry, with a full afternoon or evening ahead, and memories that will outlast any souvenir.
Many more surprises await you along the way, this is a tour that reveals itself as you go.
